Moonlit Sanctuary is Melbourne’s award-winning wildlife park.  Located in Pearcedale, it is about a 30-minute drive from Nepean Country Club.

It is a wonderful place to visit to get an up-close look at Australia’s amazing animals.  In a natural bushland setting, you can explore some of the country’s much-loved species.  Get involved with the opportunity to feed kangaroos and wallabies, pet friendly koalas.  There are many animal encounters to enjoy.  The sanctuary is home to colourful birds, reptiles, dingoes, and many other animals.  Moonlit Sanctuary is home to more than 70 Australian species waiting to meet you. Cuddle up to a koala, hold a snake or meet Hootie the owl.  Get up close and personal with many of the animals.  You will even find a python on your travels through the park!

Moonlit Sanctuary even offers unique night tours.  You will be guided through the sanctuary with a tour guide. Discover animal encounters in their natural nocturnal environment.  At night, Moonlit Sanctuary comes alive with world-famous night tours!

Learn more about Australia’s wildlife at the Keeper Talks.  You will find talks on reptiles and many of the furry friends.  A highlight is the Conservation in Action wildlife show.  Learn about conserving native wildlife as you watch the clever 20-minute display.  It is both entertaining and a great opportunity to learn insightful details about the different species.  Watch animals such as a dingoes, barn owls and barking owls.  See cockatoos and tawny frogmouths.  Watch them as they go about their training and are rewarded for their natural behaviour.

With all your exploring, you are sure to get hungry.  There are several options to refuel.  The sanctuary features the Wetlands Café with yummy meal options.  Dine indoors in the air-conditioned café or continue to enjoy the outdoors on the deck.  The deck overlooks the wetlands and bird life.  Or grab a tasty snack form the Blue Gum Kiosk.  You will find takeaway food, ice-creams, and hot and cold drinks.  You may also bring your own picnic.  There are outside picnic tables.  Or hire a BBQ and bring your own food to cook up a feast.
